“It’s not you, it’s me” - a phrase we’ve all heard before and perhaps we’ve even been the one to say it! And today I’m the one saying it, but I’m not breaking up with you - I’m claiming the fault of our search. If you’ve used the site search to find a book in the past 6 months you’ve probably had an ok time finding what you were looking for. Sometimes it would find exactly what you wanted, and other times it would return results that you had no idea why. Well the good news is that it wasn’t you, it was me - you’ve come to expect Google-esque results and we weren’t doing that for you. So as I mentioned in July we’ve got some cool stuff coming down the pipleline and this is one of those!
We decided to have a major throw down and develop a new search, one that would as Mike (our CTO) says, “Make your socks roll up and down” and I’m excited to announce that we rolled out the updated search last week. I’m actually really excited, because if used it while wearing socks (I’m in flip-flops a lot) they’d frantically be rolling up and down - it’s awesome! It’s also not complete, we’ve got some extras to implement but I couldn’t hold out any longer!
Don’t believe me? Check it out yourself! I’m confident you’ll find it faster, relevant and more helpful then anything we’ve had before.
If that’s not enough for you, try us out against Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Christian Book and others. Let me know how we stack up in the comments. I’ll be keeping an eye out for what you think.
